WORLD-FAMOUS EQUESTRIAN ART GALLERY

The Osborne Studio Gallery has fast become recognized as the world’s leading platform for Contemporary Equestrian Art and Lifestyle. Alongside the gallery’s recognized niche they handle the works of many respected landscape and figurative painters.

Opened by the Princess Royal in March 1986, in Floral Street, Covent Garden, the gallery has now been firmly established for the last 20 years in Motcomb Street in the heart of Belgravia, where it hosts an eclectic program of exhibitions and exclusive events. Located in a friendly street, with upmarket cafes, bars, and local artisan shops, it is just a few minutes from Harrods, elegant townhouses and embassies. It sits on two floors, with a leafy back garden exhibiting exotic bronze sculptures.

The gallery director, Geoffrey Hughes, is a recognized figure in the world of arts art as well as being well known in racing circles. These mutual passions have formed the gallery’s signature partnership of Art & Equine. He understood that the gallery needed to develop a distinctive personality to make it’s mark as well as ensuring the quality of the work. Today the Osborne Studio Gallery is recognized as the most important source of equestrian painting.

The gallery’s three most successful artists are consumed by horses and their love of horse racing, its atmosphere and the beauty of thoroughbreds in motion. Hubert de Watrigant, Katie O’Sullivan and Mao Wen Biao are collected by the Royal Family, the Rothchilds, Niarchos and Wildenstein families, as well as

Racing aficionados around the world. Hubert de Watrigant is the man behind the signature equine Herme’s silk scarfs, and his annual exhibition of watercolors and oils are sell-outs.

This year the gallery launches a film on Chinese painter Mao Wen Biao. This short documentary, by director Arman Naji, features the artist’s landmark large-scale murals at The Ritz, Holland Park, and Royal Automobile Club.
