The Danish Warmblood stallion licensing – Herning Horse Show (16-20 March 2016) triumphed by treating spectators to a thrilling cocktail of stallion licensing, sport, show and emotions. Here are 4 reasons the spectacular event left us seriously impressed.

British dressage rider extraordinaire acted as test rider of the best young horses qualified for the finals of the Danish Warmblood Young Horse Championship. Jukebox by Jazz was the last horse Dujardin tested; “What a super horse. He’s such a smooth ride, I could ride him all day. Horses like this make me smile, this is what you do it for” Dujardin said before rewarding the massive chestnut 9,5 for rideability and 10 for capacity, making the gelding this year’s winner.

Eye – Candy alert

The focal of the event; the stallion licensing presented some of the best young stallions throughout Europe, scoring10’s left and right; Among a the state-of-the-art jumping collection of 3-year old Frontier Ask was awarded four 10’s. While 4-year old crowd favourite Hesselhøj Donkeyboy was awarded the extremely prestigious breeder’s gold medal. And to no surprise also Champion 4-year-old dressage stallion, a truly strong contender for the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses, Verden, Germany. Last but not least dressage specialist Blue Horse Hotline, was awarded the coveted prize and title Stallion of the Year 2016.

Equestrian sport

A CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle win for Spanish Severo Lopez. While Danish Anna Kasprazak proved she’s one to watch, aboard coming Hønnerups Driver, earning first place in Grand Prix. Showjumper Swedish Rolf-Göran Bengtsson and Denis Nielsen, Germany, tied for the win in the CSI3* Grand Prix, leaving us in awe.

Show and shopping

So much to see and not enough time; two gala shows featuring Alizee Froment and Anne Krüger among many brilliant, put a definite put the “show” in show-time and left the crowd craving for more. If not enjoying the 300 stalls; shopping like there’s no tomorrow. Thumbs up for this giant event!
