DUBLIN HORSE SHOWA celebration of Ireland’s affinity with the horse

The Discover Ireland Dublin Horse Show is Ireland’s largest equestrian event, and one of the largest events held on the island. Since it was first held in 1864 the Horse Show has become a Dublin institution. A celebration of Ireland’s affinity with the horse, from the best show horses to the best international show jumpers.

At the RDS show-ground the more than 100 000 visitors can enjoy all kinds of entertainment. RDS National Craft awards, Student Art Awards Exhibition, children’s entertainment, fashion, shopping village with 300 stands, restaurants, bars and snack areas, show and hunting classes, mounted games and the best in national and international show jumping to mention some. Ladies’ Day on Thursday offers lots of glamour with fantastic prizes for the ‘Best-dressed Lady’, ‘Most Colourful Outfit’, ‘Most Creative Hat’ and ‘Elegance is an Attitude’, and for fashion conscious males there’s also a prize for ‘Best-dressed Man’.

With over €940,000 in prize money to be won, visitors can enjoy top class national and international show jumping competitions including the Longines International Grand Prix, the Land Rover Puissance and the Furusiyya FEI Nations’ Cup™ presented by Longines.

EQUILIFE WORLD visited the giant event – where The Irish team won its first Aga Khan Trophy for three years.
