The Horse Rescue

The Horse Rescue, USA, was founded by Kathryn Currey in 2017 with the mission of rescuing horses, rehabbing their injuries, and retraining them for new careers.

– Currently, our focus is the Thoroughbred racehorse. In the future, we plan to expand THR to help more breeds of horses because all horses deserve a second chance.

THR is located in Franklin TN, just 15 miles from downtown Nashville TN. We operate out of River Circle Farm, a 300-acre private farm that has been in our family since 1976.

River Circle Farm has had show jumpers compete at a national and international level.

– We use the same program for our THR horses as we use on our personal show jumpers. They receive excellent care, training, and attention. We keep a maximum of 4 horses in the program at anytime, 3 in work and 1 in turnout downtime. We believe quality over quantity when it comes to our horses.

Each horse has an individualized plan based on their needs.

– We spend a lot of time on ground manners, flatwork, and transitions.
