Old wooden furniture, floral patterns, and colorful ceramics are the keywords that describe the style we are currently inspired by. Whether we choose to call it Country or Cottagecore, it’s something us horse enthusiasts can relate to! If we imagine a small barn with a stable outside the living room window and green pastures, well, then we have fulfilled the dream!
One of the trends predicted to gain popularity earlier this year was “Cottagecore.” The trend is based on patterns, colors, and often old wooden and wicker furniture with an antique touch. Floral patterns and wallpapers are also a significant part of what makes this style direction extra special.
Rikke Bye-Andersen, an interior expert and designer, previously stated to MinMote that the style should also be relaxed and sustainable.
“The focus is on a relaxed and romantic feel. It should be laid-back and sustainable, nostalgic and rustic, but not like ‘shabby chic’ once was. Cottagecore is even more current and colorful – a mix of patterns, textiles, colors, and shapes.”
“The style reflects our need for a slightly more Spartan life, living more relaxed and without so many new things around us. It’s a solid contrast to constantly buying new things; instead, it’s about reusing, finding vintage items, discovering things at the markets. It’s about being more self-sufficient and living in harmony with nature, without overconsumption,” said Bye-Andersen.
We are often inspired by this cozy trend and are sharing some delightful Cottagecore interior images with our readers!
